Road markings
The marks painted in the road are destined to regulate
the traffic, to warn and to guide the drivers. It can be completed with
other signs.
Outside the towns, they must be reflective.
Solid
white line
A solid white line indicates that crossing the line is discouraged. It
separates lanes of traffic moving in the same direction. The driver must
be at the right of the solid line. If there is a Double Solid White Line,
the rule is the same.
Stop
line
It is a transverse solid line that indicates where the driver must stop.
This line can be reinforced by the inscription "STOP" on the
pavement, when there is a vertical stop sign.
Single
Yellow Lines along the edge of the road
It means that it’s forbidden to stop or park at any time in that
side. The prohibition may also be limited in time or to a certain category
of vehicles, according to signs.
Zigzag
line
It means that parking is forbidden on the side of the road where is this
line and in the whole length of it.
Yellow
box junction
These junctions consist of patterns of criss-cross yellow lines in intersections.
You must not enter the yellow box junction unless you can clear it without
stopping.
